Wilmington Legend passes...

Connie was co-founder of the Wilmington Teen Post 108, alongside her boss, Ray Madrigal, and John Mendez (referred to as the A-Team). Connie spent most of her career as the Assistant Director of the Wilmington Teen Center, where she worked from 1966 through her retirement in 2007 (41 years).

In her lifetime, Connie was named “Women of the Year” from the California State Assembly and received many honors and awards, such as Pioneer Woman. Connie devoted and committed her life to community service, youth and families in Wilmington. She impacted four generations of lives and her legacy will live on in those she influenced. Congressman Glen Anderson said it best when he said, “Wilmington is known as the Heart of the Harbor but Connie is the Heart of Wilmington.”
